Last Friday I was at a vernissage of a beautiful exhibition, called “Body if Work”, by the artists Meyer & Lavigne, and Krista Rosenkilde. Together they exhibit at the Gallery “Format Art Space” in Copenhagen.
Ceramic sculptures wall hangings and paper cuts, adorned the walls in the gallery.
With this exhibition, Rosenkilde og MeyerLavigne, tells us they explore the boundaries between the intuitive and the logical. The pieces are inspired by the period of constructivism and surrealism. The artist express this through craft techniques like weaving carpets, ceramics and graphical print techniques like woodcuts and linoleum prints. A warm dusty colour on the walls connects the art pieces and the background.
Personally, I loved everything, and will naturally recommend anyone who might be nearby to drop by the gallery, and enjoy the art. The prices are approachable, and you do not have to take a second mortgage to by one of the pieces.
The exhibition is open from the 18.th of January until the 2ndof March 2019
